Bowen’s personal library contains over 1000 books that he collected from the 1930’s to the 1950s. Many books were published in the late 1800’s. He saved many periodicals such as a complete set of the New England Historical and Genealogical Register – from Volume 1 (1847) to Volume 118 (1964). These are bound together for each year and are in mint condition.
His son also added to the library with books he collected on various middle eastern topics (politics, religion, geology, archeology) while he was in Saudi Arabia during WWII (1946-1949) and post war when he returned for an archeological dig in 1952.
